EdgeHill has built and backed a variety of companies from early stage start-ups to established industry leaders. Today, we are focused on structured credit and venture investment opportunities.
EdgeHill will invest between $1,000,000 - $200,000,000 per investment.
We seek to provide B2B and/or B2C credit through various structures, businesses or special purpose vehicles.
EdgeHill is agnostic however, examples of previous investments include litigation funding and elective surgery consumer loans.
EdgeHill will invest between $250,000 - $50,000,000 per investment.
We can be active in majority or minority positions and we're flexible enough to act as a passive capital partner.
We have experience in direct-to-consumer sales, technology enabled marketing and healthcare related products and services.
Eric has more than 20 years of experience building, investing and growing technology-enabled marketing and sales companies.
With a strong background in software development and workflow optimization, Eric currently supports EdgeHill portfolio companies and identifies new opportunities. Prior to his current role, Eric founded Inside Response, a technology-enabled online marketer for the largest Insurance companies in the US. With triple-digit growth and a headcount of more than 800, Inside Response merged with a strategic partner in early 2020.
Leveraging the early successes of Inside Response, Eric founded Inside Academics in 2012. Inside Academics was a leader in post-secondary student marketing and was acquired by a strategic partner in late 2018.
Eric was also the founder of Prodigy Companies, Deepstar Interactive and co-founder of Answer Media. At Prodigy, he launched several digital assets (including Healthcare.com) to acquire finance and insurance shoppers at scale. At Deepstar, Eric built a platform to manage lead routing and distribution for clients in Higher Education. Prodigy's assets were acquired by an investment group in 2006 and Deepstar's assets were acquired by QuinStreet, Inc. (NASDAQ:QNST) in 2005.
Eric received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Emporia State University.
RICH FRANKENBERG - MANAGING PARTNER
Rich has a diverse background in business operations and strategy.
Prior to Edgehill, Rich was a Senior Consultant in the Strategy and Operations groups at both Capgemini and Deloitte Consulting. Rich was responsible for leading teams delivering services in business process optimization, technology implementations, global risk management process development, and defining key governance and controls processes.
Rich also worked for ExxonMobil in the Finance Business Analysis and Reporting group, where he focused on identifying opportunities for improvement across internal reporting divisions.
Rich received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from The University of Kansas and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis Olin School of Business concentrating in Finance and Strategy.
TYLER GREIF - CREDIT HOLDINGS
For the past 20 years, Tyler has a proven and successful track record as an investor and entrepreneur including having worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs Group and helped to build a multi-billion dollar hedge fund, PSAM, based in New York City.
Following his 8-year tenure at PSAM, he launched an energy company, Proven Fields, focused on oil & gas investments in the United States. Over a 6-year period, Proven Fields accumulated nearly $100 million in oil & gas assets under management and exited the business in 2016.
Since then, Tyler founded HomeBase, which invests in numerous venture-stage companies and provides certain services to these companies such as outsourced CFO advisory, bookkeeping and accounting. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Vicunita Minerals, a UK-based gold mining company with assets in Peru.
Tyler received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University.
C. ANDREW MARTIN - FOUNDER / MANAGING PARTNER
Andrew Martin has over 20 years of portfolio management and investment analysis experience.
Andrew is the co-founder and managing partner of Frontier Capital Partners, who specialize in hedge fund strategies. Andrew leads several multi-strategy investment approaches combining equity trading strategies, credit, and structured transactions.
Prior to joining the Frontier Family, Andrew managed the investments for high net worth individuals, corporations, and foundations for five years with Merrill Lynch.
Prior to Merrill Lynch, Andrew held positions as an Equity Research Analyst , Equity Trader, and OTC Market Maker for George K. Baum & Company.
Andrew received Bachelor's degrees in both Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas.
C. ANDREW MARTIN
JOEY GRANT - MANAGING PARTNER
Joey Grant is currently a managing partner at EdgeHill, an investment fund focused on making investments primarily in financial services and insurance/healthcare distribution but is opportunistic in approach and will look at a variety of companies presenting growth opportunities.
In his previous role with ExamOne, a Quest Diagnostics company, he served as President and General Manager responsible for all divisions of the company from December 2019-July 2021. He was responsible for setting the vision and strategy for ExamOne. Led Sales, Marketing, Operations, Business Development and product. Managed the company P&L, top line revenue and operating margin. He served as Executive Director Commercial Sales from 2013-2019 responsible for all sales channels within ExamOne. Directed the overall company strategy and execution of pipeline management, P&L, budget, pricing, contracting, negotiations and building relationships with C-suite and executives within the Life Insurance and Health & Life science industries. He is a strategy-driven leader with experience in the Insurance services industry with 20+ years of successful leadership, sales, business development, operations, marketing and product.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.
KELLY FISHER - FINANCE/CONTROLLER
Prior to joining Edgehill, Kelly was the Assistant Controller at Tickets For Less. She was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the accounting department. During her 13 years of service, Kelly helped grow the company into the largest ticket broker in Kansas City. She gained valuable experience in operations, accounting, and HR while working directly with the company’s President and CFO.
Kelly currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Head for the Cure Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization committed to defeating brain cancer. She serves on the finance and programs committees and volunteers her time to raise awareness and funds to stop pediatric brain tumors. Kelly is the 5K Team Captain for Team Little Owl which has had the largest Head for the Cure team since 2013.
Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Master of Accounting from the University of Kansas.
TREVOR ROBINSON - PRESIDENT EDGEHILL FRANCHISE HOLDINGS
Trevor Robinson is the President of EdgeHill Franchise Holdings, a management company that owns and supports numerous franchise businesses in North America.
At his previous company, NCM Associates he held multiple executive roles across both the Product and Sales & Marketing divisions. As VP, Client Solutions & Business Development, he was responsible for a large team of consultants that provided professional services and educational products to automotive dealers in North America. He was then tasked with developing and leading a new centralized sales marketing team as VP, Sales & Marketing. Trevor has spent 20+ years working with small to medium sized business owners to develop products, services and support systems that ensure profitability and growth.
He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from Marquette University. He has also studied extensively at the graduate level in the field of Adult Education.
AUSTIN O'GRADY - SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Austin O’Grady joined EdgeHill Venture Partners at the beginning of 2023 as a Senior Associate, where he is responsible for transaction analysis, deal execution, portfolio monitoring, and fund performance.
Prior to joining EdgeHill, Austin was a Consultant with EY-Parthenon in Dallas, TX, where he focused on commercial and operational due diligence, transaction strategy and execution, and value creation. He began his career with Black & Veatch Management Consulting, where he performed technical due diligence across the energy industry.
Austin holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and an MBA from the University of Kansas.
BILL GRANT - ADVISORY BOARD
William “Bill” Grant III brings a multitude of sales and operational experience to EdgeHill.
Bill has served as the COO of SelectQuote since 2019, previously serving Chief Marketing Officer of the company and President of the Senior division from 2017-2019. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Senior division for five years. Prior to SelectQuote, he served as Vice President of Sales for LabOne from 2001 to 2005. While at LabOne, revenues increased from $170 million to more than $500 million and earnings increased from $10 million to $75 million. Bill was instrumental in both product development and organic growth initiatives in the clinical division.
Prior to his role as Vice President, Bill served in numerous sales positions at LabOne from 1998-2001.
Bill Grant received a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Kansas.
BOB GRANT - ADVISORY BOARD
Robert "Bob" Grant has served as President of SelectQuote's Senior division since 2019 and served as the company's Chief Revenue Officer from 2017-2019. Prior to that, he served as the Senior Vice President of Sales of the Life division from 2016-2017 and as the Director of Sales and Operations for the Senior division from 2013-2016. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas.
TOM POLLOCK - ADVISORY BOARD
Tom Pollock co-founded Virtus Insurance in 2013. He has a diverse background providing insurance due-diligence for private capital investors. Tom is responsible for deal sourcing and executing post-close insurance strategy and go-forward risk analysis alongside the new management teams. Tom actively works with several midwestern based private equity and family office groups. Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a Minor in Business Communications from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Rockhurst University Executive Fellows.
